Trade Report: Roughly Four-Month Shoot, Over a Year of Post-Production Ahead
A day after the leaked wrap post, World of Reel offered its own account of the production, describing a roughly four-month shoot - a different figure to the "six solid months" the since-deleted crew post described, and one we haven't been able to fully reconcile - and reported that more than a year of visual-effects and post-production work still lies ahead before the confirmed March 3, 2028 release.

Filming Reportedly Wraps After Roughly Six Months
Production on the film reportedly wrapped in late July 2026, roughly six months after filming began. This has not been officially announced by A24 - the only source is a (since-deleted, account-made-private) Instagram post from crew member Sean Schofield, a prop maker on the production, who described it as the "dream job to end all dream jobs" and "6 solid months of blood, sweat and tears making the coolest stuff ever." It's a credible crew account rather than a confirmed studio statement, so it's filed here as a rumour, not a confirmed fact, until A24 makes it official. No trailer, poster or additional footage has been released yet - the film remains on track for its March 3, 2028 release.

Set Photos and Video Leak Online
Unofficial, leaked photos and video reportedly from the set began circulating online over the third and fourth weeks of April 2026, sourced mainly to fan-shot clips (originally posted to TikTok and YouTube) filmed around the Greenwich Naval College set. Reported sightings include location signage referencing Leyndell, prop crates labelled for Stormveil, a statue resembling the in-game depiction of Marika, and gallows-like set pieces some fans connected to the Dung Eater. A separate clip said to show a crowded market/town scene and an elaborate public-execution scene (extras in period dress, ornate hats, food being thrown) drew particular attention for depicting a busier, more populated Lands Between than the game itself shows - several outlets speculated this could be a pre-Shattering flashback, though that reading is pure fan speculation, not anything sourced from the production. A costume reportedly resembling Queen Marika (a blue dress with long gold braids and gold shoes) was also described. None of this has been officially confirmed or released by the studio, Bandai Namco or the cast - treat all of it as an unconfirmed leak, not an official reveal, until A24 says otherwise.

World of Reel reported that Nick Offerman - who worked with Alex Garland on Civil War - had joined the Elden Ring cast. As with the film's other pre-announcement casting reports, no character or role was attached, and it wasn't officially confirmed until the full cast reveal later in the month.

The InSneider reported that Cailee Spaeny - who worked with Alex Garland on Civil War - was in talks to join the Elden Ring cast, reuniting the pair. The report didn't specify a role, though it didn't stop fans from immediately speculating she might be playing Queen Marika - speculation only, since no character names have ever been officially released.

Days after Miyazaki's comments, Elden Ring co-creator George R.R. Martin posted on his own blog about "those rumors you may have heard about a feature film or television series based on ELDEN RING" - and then declined to confirm or deny anything: "I have nothing to say... I know nothing... what rumor?" It wasn't a confirmation of anything specific, but it was the first sign that adaptation talk was already circulating behind the scenes, nearly a year before A24 was announced.
